Christmas Tide Worship

Join us every Sunday at 9:30 & 11 AM for Beautiful Progressive Worship created to inspire hope, fill you with peace, deepen our love for justice and surprise us with joy. Join us in our lovely affirming worship space at  2326 University Ave and on Facebook Live at 11 AM.

Pick up your complimentary Advent Devotional Book during worship along with your children's bulletin, Advent Calendar and photo-a-day challenge!

The season of Advent invites us to slow our pace, still our wandering minds and experience peace in the midst of our fast-paced troubled world. Advent calls us to resist the hustle-bustle, shop-till-you-drop mantra of capitalism and consumerism. Instead, we embrace the blessings of art, poetry, shared meals, meditation, laughter, spiritual growth and acts of mercy.

THEOLOGY ON TAP: NO BAD QUESTION

Join Downtown Disciples for Theology on Tap, where we explore life’s biggest questions together! In this series, we’ll dive into thought-provoking topics about life, death, and scripture—questions recently posed by our community. December's intriguing question is "Was the Virgin Mary really a Virgin?"

We gather on the first Saturday of each month at a new brewery around Des Moines for open, honest and sometimes heretical conversations. Come curious and ready to engage as we reflect together!
